Graham Lewis
- Creative Partner
Graham has always said that advertising is a young person's game, so when he hit his late thirties, he had to think fast. Having spent sixteen years working for other companies, on clients as diverse as pet-food and shampoo, it was time to contemplate going it alone. Fortunately, he met Iain and quickly set up shop. It was the excesses of traditional agency practices that had bothered both Graham and Iain, which prompted them to specialise in environmental communications, a then niche sector, helping clients communicate their green credentials in a sustainable way. Graham had always been interested in ecology, and was recycling even before he knew it was called recycling. It was an easy leap to make. And it didn't stop there either.
Not satisfied with an industry that just rewarded creativity through various award schemes, and a lack of awareness for business' that were making positive environmental changes, Graham had an idea that combined the two. The Green Awards were successfully launched in 2006 to high acclaim. The first of their kind, the national ceremony has become a highlight in the 'green' calendar, attended annually by over 500 of the country's most influential 'green' thinkers and motivators in commerce.
You'll find Graham is more and more involved with smart ideas that have a profound effect on a companies social and environmental behaviour, although he still finds time to do the occasional ad now and then. He's never learnt to drive, which used to be a sticking point in the past, but has now become a wonderful low-carbon benefit these days.
Iain started working with Graham on sustainability-focused brand communications in 2005. The founding purpose of the company was to harness the power of communication to achieve positive social and environmental change. The company championed Reform Advertising early on, pioneering 'Communications with a Conscience'. The vision was to promote a sustainable agenda in communications by communicating responsible and ethical business, government and societal practice. This was achieved by bringing together an expert team of marketers, consultants, sustainability experts and media specialists grounded in the complex issues surrounding climate, ethics and behavioural change.
His previous experience was gained through working on a range of integrated business to business and business to consumer UK and Pan European Blue Chip Accounts . In particular direct response campaigns. Iain now also specialises in developing partnerships, sponsorship and media relations.
Professionally, Iain holds full member status of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. He has a Bachelors degree from the University of Wales, a Post Graduate Certificate in Marketing Management from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in London.
Iain served as an elected member of the London Civic Forum from 2005 to 2007, the Islington Climate Change Partnership in 2008 and is currently involved with the Marketing and Sustainability Steering Group. Iain recently sat the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment’s Open Book Assessment in February 2010 to become an Associate and will hear the results in May 2010.

Caroline Martinot
- Project Assistant
Caroline has joined the GREEN team early this year as a project assistant. Originally from Croissy sur Seine, a small city just outside Paris, she enjoys maintaining some of the clichés surrounding her people; she loves cheese, fashion and can be slightly grumpy in the morning. While studying Sustainable Development in Canada and France Caroline developed a particular interest in sustainability communications. She loves the challenge of converting people to sustainable lifestyles. She envisages communications as a perpetual and exiting hunt for the right message and the best visual that will hit a specified target.
Caroline has a Bachelors degree in Science Politics from Paris X the University. She's to complete a double master degree in sustainable development from ESCEM a double accredited Business School in France and the Sherbrooke University, Québec. Her past professional experience includes working with cutting-edge consultancies such as Futerra and Article 13 on the creation of creative campaigns and strategies promoting sustainability.
