Project: International Media Relations Strategy

 
GLOBE is the Global Legislators Organisation for a Balanced Environment. It was established to support ambitious political leadership on issues of climate and energy security, land-use change and ecosystems and economic and population growth.

Media relations are essential for GLOBE. They chose GREEN to build their stature as an influential entity on the global stage and to create continuous engagement with key media worldwide
At GREEN we thought that improving GLOBE media relations required clarifying GLOBE positioning, engaging legislators as vocal advocates and ensuring continuous engagement of the media. We created a threefold strategy to address these key points.

During the first phase of the project GREEN developed GLOBE positioning and created strategic messaging. We then kicked off GLOBE media relations by developing press releases and briefing materials for UK/European Media, ensuring the targeting of a wide variety of print, broadcast and online media.  We also organised media interviews with appropriate experts, including the International Commission on Climate and Energy Security.

Strengthening its positioning and its messages allowed GLOBE to have a broader impact with journalists and to improve the media coverage of their actions.
